Just Say NO! To the Thumb & Awkward Postures with Barbara Frye

Designed to assist practitioners in preventing occupational injuries, in this interview Barb will  emphasizes two essential rules of safe body mechanics: Say NO to the thumb and avoid awkward postures. Barb will discuss the “no thumb” approach to deep work and will also let us in on how awkward postures can be replaced with ergonomically sound alternatives.

Barbara Frye

Barbara Frye has been a massage educator and therapist in private practices since 1990, coordinated IBM’s body mechanics program, and authored Body Mechanics for Manual Therapists: A Functional Approach to Self-Care, 3rd Edition. She has a massage and Feldenkrais practice at the Pluspunkt Center for Therapy and Advanced Studies near Zurich, Switzerland.
